How to Prep for an AP Exam

May marks an especially stressful time for high schoolers with the advent of AP Exams. With these tips, however, you will be ready to score that 5!

Participate in your classes!
AP Exams are based on the content you learn in AP Classes. Pay attention in class, participate in activities, do your homework, and raise your hand when you are confused.

Plan out your calendar
Set aside specified time for studying specific subjects. If you block out time with a general “Study” label, it is very likely that you won’t even know where to start and thus not feel the motivation to do anything.

Make Study Guides
Make fun study guides with lots of colors. These are helpful both in consolidating the information you need to know and in memorizing the actual content. Having lots of colors makes it easier to memorize!

Invest in an AP Prep Book
Having an AP Prep book helps you outline your study and have all the information you need to study all in one place.

Practice Exams!
Take tons of timed practice exams to make sure you get in the rhythm of the test. The tests are very long, so doing lots of practice also helps you to avoid burnout.
Have a routine the night before
Make sure you get a good night of sleep and a good breakfast. Glance at your notes on the way in but don’t cram so much that your head hurts!
