Why are these goals so important?
In the modern world, citizens having the ability to read enables one to be effective in all areas of life, whether it is performing well in a job or buying groceries.
What did I do at the ALA Conference?
I attended the American Library Association annual conference (June 23-28, 2022) through Ideapress, an independent business publishing company whose books cover topics such as diversity in college and the workplace. I helped Ideapress set up their booth to attract librarians, talked to passersby about the books and handed out copies, and directed librarians to book signings. I loved facilitating the interchange of literature and ideas.
